Patient perceptions of and experiences with stigma using telehealth for opioid use disorder treatment: a qualitative analysis.
The objective of this qualitative study was to explore how telehealth impacts experiences of stigma for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). The authors interviewed patients with OUD at a single urban academic medical center in Oregon. Four themes emerged: Telehealth provides space and improved control over treatment setting; Public stigma and privacy concerns can impact both telehealth and in-person encounters; Social distance in of telehealth could mitigate or exacerbate perceptions of clinician stigma; Increased flexibility of telehealth translated to perceptions of increased clinician trust and respect. The authors concluded that these mixed results supported policies that allow for a more individualized, patient-centered approach to care delivery where patients choose how they receive OUD treatment services.

Predictors of willingness to use a smartphone for research in underserved persons living with HIV.
The purpose of this study was to assess factors associated with persons living with HIV (PLVH) for participation in research using smartphones. It concluded that future mHealth interventions targeting PLWH should take into account the inverse relationship between smartphone use and age, HIV stigma, and social isolation, and other predictor variables.
